THE HOLY GOATS TESTIFY:
The Holy Goats are bringing back the essential ingredients of rock and serving them up with a straight shot of blues. With soul-driven vocals and harmonies added to raw riff rockin’ guitars along with a tight rhythmic groove, The Holy Goats kick power blues rock into overdrive, taking retro rock to the next level.
Raw, power-blues rock is not the current flavor-of-the-month, but the Goats think it’s sorely missed. The
Holy Goats make the kind of music they all wanted to hear, but couldn’t find elsewhere: True rock’n’roll
with a heavy blues influence, soulful vocals, and dedicated musicianship. All the Goats are lifelong,
heartfelt musicians who pride themselves on both craft and fire in their performances.
WHO'S IN THE GOAT HERD:
The Holy Goats are an original band, with songs written by lead singer, Todd McCullough. Besides songwriting and luminous rock’n’soul vocals, Todd contributes rhythm guitar, harp and a few well-chosen leads. Pete Scott’s lead guitar blazes with urgency and inspiration. Steve Crawley delivers high-powered drums. Bob Willow’s bass kicks the Goats into their groove. Priscilla Selgas gives the Goats their souled up harmonies.
HOW THE GOATS GOT HOLY:
as in the Father, the Son and the Holy Goats. Todd dubbed his charismatic, irrepressible father Ron,
“The Goat.” Eventually, “Goats” became family shorthand. Todd created the bulk of the Goats’ songs
after his father’s unexpected death in 1996. The name is a fond remembrance of Ronald McCullough
and a tribute to “The Goat’s” deep love of music.
The name also ties the band to the mythical Pan. A party animal, horny old goat, and musician, Pan
became the logical trademark for the band. Though they’ve traded his Pan pipes for a harmonica, the
Holy Goats have hung onto his lust and revelry. Goat Life is good life.
GOATS IN THE WILD:
The Holy Goats play a variety of venues in the New York-New Jersey-Pennsylvania
area. The Goats are presently touring the Tri-State area to promote the release
of their debut CD, The Holy Goats. The CD has been well received critically and
has garnered airplay on a variety of NY-metro area radio, satellite and cable
television stations. “Nothing to Lose” from their new CD is featured on WNTI Unsigned: Vol. 1
